WHO WE ARE
HISTORY ABOUT THE
CITYTAKERS
CityTakersSWFL began in 2021 as a small group of people from different organizations and churches with a vision to make a positive impact in SWFL communities. Specializing on the marginalized and poor areas first we saw the needs of people were far greater than imagined.
The vision began to expand as the movement grew. Led by Greg Jackson, the organization began to be recognized as a pillar in the community, serving as a missions hub for local organizations. In 2023, we opened up our food pantry which now serves over 300 families per month and provides other resources as well.
Mentoring troubled youth in juvenile justice, going into neighborhoods and events on select weekends with resources and hope, speaking engagements in public/private high schools, and weekly personal growth classes are just some of the outreach opportunities we provide.
We are excited about all the support and volunteers that serve our communities alongside us. We are expanding and more help is needed as we continue to seek opportunities to uplift our SWFL communities
BIO
The Mission Founder
Derek Isaac is the Missions Pastor for CityTakersSWFL and was born and raised in Ft. Myers, FL. After High School, he joined the US NAVY and served 5 years domestic and abroad. With many options to choose from for locations to live, he felt the Lord always was directing him to go back to SWFL. He is currently married and has 5 children.
Derek sensed the calling of God to the ministry since he was a teenager and has functioned as a gifted teacher of God’s Word. Recently, the Lord called him into the office of an evangelist and he works hand in hand with Greg Jackson, the Director of CityTakersSWFL. He has spearheaded many local outreaches here in SWFL and is responsible for connecting with churches and organizations who desire to fulfill the Great Commission in their own backyard. Consistently, mentoring at risk students in our local schools, guiding the troubled youth at juvenile justice, and preaching the gospel in the inner cities of our community are some of the outreaches that Derek oversees with the help of volunteers and disciples at CityTakers.
Derek is a “people person” and those who have come to know him understand how much he cares for them and desires everyone to grow in their walk with the Lord. When he’s not in the community serving, His favorite sports to watch are football and basketball. He also is a competitive ping pong player!
Connect with Derek and CityTakersSWFL if you have a desire to be more involved in community outreaches as well as learn more about how to
effectively evangelize to those around you!
